FAQ

Can I publish with OURJ, even if I think I may want to submit my work to another journal in the future? Yes! OURJ uses Creative Commons (BY) licensing, so our authors are completely free to revise, republish, and repurpose their work however they see fit. If you are planning on seeking future publication in any other journals in particular, however, you would want to confirm what those journals’ copyright policies are before publishing with OURJ.

Can I publish with OURJ if one or more of my paper’s authors are non-undergraduate contributors? Yes, faculty, postdocs, and graduate students are allowed to be co-authors on a paper as long as the first author is an undergraduate.

Who are the peer reviewers? OURJ is edited and produced by the student editorial board. The board is composed of undergraduates with rich writing, editing, and research experiences who are passionate about the publication of student research and have been vetted and hired by UO Libraries. The peer-review process is double-blind, and editors declare conflicts for authors they know/whose work they are familiar with.
